The Church Embraces Pope’s Encyclical “He Loved Us”
Thursday, October 24, 2024Today, in Rome, at Saint Peter’s Basilica, in the twelfth year of his pontificate, His Holiness Pope Francis issued his latest On the Human and Divine Love of the Heart of Jesus.
The new Encyclical emphasizes the centrality of the Sacred Heart in the Church’s spiritual life and serves as an important reminder of our need, as Christians, to represent that love through our actions and in our relationships with others.
The Holy Father invites the faithful to deepen their awareness of Sacred Heart of Jesus by promoting personal and community contemplation on the significance of Jesus’ love and sacrifice. In particular, Pope Francis encourages us to reflect on Christ’s infinite compassion, which encourages us to spread that same love to our neighbors, particularly the vulnerable and suffering.
The faithful are encouraged to read this new Encyclical with open minds and hearts, and to embody the Sacred Heart’s message in their lives by promoting a culture of love in our communities.
